Sanitation & Recycling

The City of Maysville contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection and recycling. Everyone within the community is required to have garbage collection and all residential customers are encouraged to participate in recycling collection. Businesses are required to contract their own waste disposal services.

Trash and recycling collection day is Thursday of every week, please have items at the curb by 6:00 a.m. All trash must be contained in a bag, no loose trash will be accepted for removal. All residents will be provided with a recycling container upon request, they can be picked up at City Hall.

Trash Removal will be on Friday for the following Holiday weeks:

New Year's Day
Memorial Day
4th of July
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

There is a eight (8) 30 gallon bag limit per household per week and two (2) bulky items, a chair, couch or TV for example. You must contact R&W Disposal Service (816-632-3590) prior to collection and let them know you are setting out a bulky item for special pick-up.

Examples of items for Recycling pick up:

• milk and juice containers - rinsed  
• cans - rinsed
• household plastics example, soap bottles and laundry jugs - rinsed
• cardboard cereal boxes and other cardboard boxes
• newspapers and magazines

Prohibited items are tires, batteries, yard waste, oil, paint, construction items, demolition items, hazardous waste and white goods (household appliances).
